{"id":7781,"date":"2017-12-07T10:42:41","date_gmt":"2017-12-07T08:42:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cafferiver.com\/?p=7781"},"modified":"2023-02-28T12:14:02","modified_gmt":"2023-02-28T10:14:02","slug":"karangura","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cafferiver.mom\/en\/karangura\/","title":{"rendered":"DISABILITY IS NOT INABILITY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I managed to get a piece of land where I grow coffee in the <strong>Karangura County<\/strong>, in <strong>Kabarole district<\/strong> and I later joined an association where I was given the position of business manager.\u201c<em>We believe in coffee because our ancestral culture is in farming,<\/em>\u201d said Davis.<em>\u201cCoffee provides us with food, clothes, and everything we need to live on. The coffee crops our parents planted are now shrinking in production so we need organizations like NUCAFE to teach us new methods of replenishing our farms. This is our hope for the future\u201d,<\/em>he added.<br \/>\nThanks to the <strong>NUCAFE\u2019s Plan<\/strong>, today Davis had been able to increase his income through an improvement of his production. There is an opportunity for farmers like Davis to boost their production from 300-400 Kg per hectare to more than two tonnes per hectare by working in joint collaborations with government entities like <strong>Uganda Coffee Development Authority<\/strong> and <strong>Operation Wealth Creation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Davis is working hard with the association as the business manager who is tirelessly running the day-to-day activities of the association.
